With eyes wide open...

So, this is it. Or it was it.

The year is almost ending and because these last few days have been a bit caotic I decided only to return next year, which is already next week, when I go back to Lisbon.

The Christmas was ok, all the family together, full of food, desserts and chocolates, not so many presents as used to but as we all agree that's not important.

Yesterday it was my birthday and even without being in the mood to party, I met some friends by surprise and it turned out to be memorable.

And today, with all the people talking and thinking about the new year, I had to think a little about it and realized that next year will be quite different and all the changes will start already in January. There were so many things that happened during these last months that made all the projects to 2013 change or to be rearranged. But I still feel that some day, probably sooner that I think, I will go, just go, without plans. I know I can't solve everyone's problem. When I truly believe in that, then will be time to leave.

Taking Lx by night...

Ontem fui dormir tarde. Ou cedo, dependendo do ponto de vista. Mas andei a passear pela Avenida da Liberdade. À noite, calmamente, como já não fazia há algum tempo. E acompanhada para ser mais agradável. Sem, no entanto, deixar de ver as decorações de natal que surgem em quase todas as montras e até os edifícios surgem embrulhados de presentes.Ver como é bonita à luz da noite e sem a luz e a confusão do dia. Algo só possível numa noite de semana. Foi o fim perfeito de um dia igual a tantos outros, mas que acabou num passeio tranquilo e relaxante. Obrigada D.

Last night I went late to bed. Or too early according each one perspective. But today I walked by the Liberdade Avenue. At night, slowly, like I didn't for so long. And with a great company to be more enjoyable. And I couldn't help to see almost all the shops with the christmas decorations and even the building wrapped up like gifts. I could see how the avenue is beautifull in the night light and without the the daylight or the normal turmoil. Something that is only possible on a week night. It was the perfect ending for a random day, but which ended with a relaxing and quiet walk. Thanks D.

Kelly Family - Fell In Love With An Alien...

A song that always reminds me how young we were, and so naif back then... Sometimes I miss it, others I'm really glad with all the changes that came from it.

A word to go away...

That kind of word that is always on your mind and most of the times keep you from doing the things you are not sure if you would be successfull. In my case it has always been the big IF. If this, if that, if something, if someone, if I,...

The crazy thing is as I go older the word seems to go bigger and bigger and I see myself not as the adventure girl I used to be but the cautious woman who have to think and weigh the consequences before even say out loud what I was wanting to do.

This time is not different. Or maybe it is.The awkwardiness will not be there anymore. Just because I feel that when I have all the pending issues resolved I think I'll wake up one day and go. Go to where I believe can be the change I need in this moment. Not yet... just because I still have something to do.  And if...

It's only Tuesday but...

Lá no trabalho andam todos muitos excitados e porquê? Porque vai haver não uma, mas duas festas de Natal e a primeira é já sábado. Tudo começou quando a equipa decidiu fazer um jantar de convívio, mas no mês de Dezembro com tantas despesas havia pouca gente a aderir. Depois as duas empresas para as quais trabalho resolveram patrocinar o jantar para todos. Entretanto a tradicional festa de Natal que decorre todos os anos é logo duas semanas depois. E, enquanto se ultimam os detalhes para sábado, lá no trabalho, as conversas acabam todas no sábado. Dizem que é sempre muito animado e a julgar pelas fotos que estão expostas parece que animação é coisa que não falta.

 

In my job everyone is very excited with the company dinner which is on Saturday. First it was supposed to be just a dinner for the team but with all expenses that expected to have next month there wasn't many people going, so both companies for who I work decided to pay for everyone. But just two weeks after we also have the Christmas party that happens every year and the oldest colleagues say it usually is really fun and by the pictures around the office it really seems that way..

So old, so romantic...

Hoje foi um daqueles dias... Não foi um dia de boas notícias e agora no fim do dia para a cereja no topo digamos que três anos da minha vida em fotos, vídeos e documentos podem estar perdidos para sempre... Ai, ai... Uma daquelas alturas em que uma máquina do tempo deveria ser real!

Today was one of that kind of days... It wasn't a good day for news and to end it let's just say that three years of my life could be lost for ever - pictures, videos and documents... A perfect time for a Time Machine to be a reality!
